Experience the beauty and seclusion of the Adirondacks in the comfort of a luxorious home on our very own island. Every day will start and end with a hearty home cooked meal and the days will be full of adventure and serenity. This is the first time for this trip so we will be exploring some new waters and starting new traditions. The house is spacious and can accommodate 16 people but we will cap the group at 10 so everyone has some breathing room.
Enjoy the beauty and serenity of Raquette Lake while staying in the historic Brightside Hotel. Built by Joseph A. Bryere, whose work is featured at the Adirondack Museum, in 1895, and recently restored, the building features 8 bedrooms with two baths, original wainscoting and antique furniture, a wrap-around porch and a second story porch that makes you feel as if you’re on top of the water. The property is boat-access only. This is a truly unique property on a unique lake. This is perfect for the person who doesn’t want to rough it in the wilderness but still get the true Adirondack experience!!
Day 1 – Meet at 7:00am at my place in Linfield and load up the van and kayaks. Drive to the marina and head kayak 25 minutes to the property (your gear will be taken out via Pontoon boat). Day 2 – Have a hearty breakfast and pack lunches and then head out for a day trip and explore the bays, inlets and rivers of Raquette Lake. Back to the house by 3:00, clean up and load everyone on the Pontoon boat and head to the marina where we will board the W.W. Durant for a dinner cruise on Raquette Lake. Along with your meal you’ll hear the history of the lake and the lakefront cottages. The food on the Dinner Cruise is outstanding and the surroundings are beautiful!
